Udmurtian authorities expect peak coronavirus infection in November

IZHEVSK, November 5. / TASS /. The authorities of the Udmurt Republic expect the peak of infection with coronavirus and pneumonia in the region in November, the head of the republic, Alexander Brechalov, said at a press conference on Thursday.
"We have reason to believe that November will be just the peak in the incidence of pneumonia and covid," Brechalov said.
According to him, the authorities have taken the necessary measures in case the situation becomes dire.
"We will have 3 thousand beds with a reserve, which we will put into operation by mid-November, 34% of beds are now free," the head of the region added, noting that observators have resumed their work in the republic, they now have 200 beds, there are 25 people.
In total, on November 5, 9,659 laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Udmurtia, 7,682 people recovered, 178 patients died. The condition of 917 patients is assessed as satisfactory, 730 patients are of moderate severity, 152 are in serious condition.
According to the republican headquarters, the rate of spread of the virus in Udmurtia increased in September. In August, the indicator was at the level of 20-30 people, by the end of September it increased to 100 cases per day, now about 130 cases are being registered. Since September 11, a mandatory mask regime has been in effect in the republic, school holidays have been extended in October, and since October 9 the work of cafes and restaurants at night is prohibited.
