Rospotrebnadzor assessed the risk of transmission of COVID-19 in a cafe through food
Transmission of coronavirus in a restaurant through food is unlikely. This was stated by Mikhail Lebedev, a leading expert of the Center for Molecular Diagnostics of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor.
"According to the results of a study by Rospotrebnadzor on the presence of coronavirus on various surfaces in the environment, infection with coronavirus through food is unlikely," the expert quotes RIA Novosti.
According to him, out of 220 thousand samples, COVID-19 was detected in 321, that is, about 0.15%, while it was not detected in food.
The epidemiologist clarified that the risk of infection in public places is most often associated with violation of preventive measures - non-observance of social distance, lack of masks, poor hygiene.
Earlier, Roman Leonov, an expert of the Bonist Union, spoke about the possibility of transmission of infection through banknotes.
