Chaga birch mushroom belongs to traditional medicine and cannot be used as the main type of treatment. This was stated by the chief infectious disease specialist of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) Vladimir Nikiforov, reports "Moscow Says".

So Nikiforov assessed the statement of the staff of the "Vector" center, who found an antiviral effect in an aqueous extract of a birch mushroom. According to the infectious disease specialist, he will never believe that you can eat a piece of the mushroom and be cured of the coronavirus.

Earlier it became known that the staff of the "Vector" center reported the likelihood of creating antiviral drugs on the basis of chaga due to its pronounced protective effect and low toxicity. They have applied for the invention of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus replication inhibitor based on an aqueous extract of the fungus Inonotus obliquus. According to them, during the day, you can drink 150-200 milliliters of concentrate, sip every 15-20 minutes with water.

The head of the vector mycology laboratory, Professor Tamara Teplyakova, said that she tested the effectiveness of the extract on herself, her husband, relatives and colleagues who fell ill with COVID-19. According to her, the symptoms of the disease disappeared after 5-7 days. Scientists explained that chaga contains a wide range of biologically active components that result from interactions with birch, including melanins with anticancer activity, polysaccharides, free phenols and flavonoids.
