Minsk residents ordered to wear masks

A mandatory mask regime has been introduced in Minsk. Residents were obliged to wear masks at workplaces, when visiting all objects of the capital, without exception, as well as in public transport, including minibuses, metro and taxis. According to the latest data, since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 109 thousand cases of coronavirus have been identified in Belarus.

A mandatory mask regime has been introduced in Minsk. This was announced on Thursday, November 12, BelTA informs with reference to the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

Residents were obliged to wear masks in their workplaces, when visiting all objects of the Belarusian capital without exception, as well as in public transport, including minibuses, metro and taxis.

Since November 12, the city has strengthened control over compliance with the requirements for preventing the spread of viral infections and COVID-19.

Earlier, the mask mode was introduced in a number of other regions of Belarus, including Mogilev and the Gomel region.

According to the latest data, since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 109 thousand cases of coronavirus have been identified in the country, 1022 patients have died.

No strict quarantine restrictions were introduced in Belarus. President Alexander Lukashenko explained this decision by economic reasons. The head of state called the situation around the pandemic psychosis and suggested treating the coronavirus with a bath, vodka, butter and work on a tractor.
