MOSCOW, November 12. / TASS /. The Azerbaijani authorities are considering the possibility of granting cultural autonomy to the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated on Thursday by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation Polad Bulbul oglu at an online briefing.
"There is no status of Nagorno-Karabakh today," he said.
All Azerbaijanis, who at one time were forced to leave their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh, will return there, the ambassador said.
According to him, the citizens of Azerbaijan have been waiting for the solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue for 30 years. "Almost a million Azerbaijanis have been expelled from their ancestral territory," he said. "And of course, all those who were expelled from their homes from the Azerbaijani side will return. For this, an infrastructure must be created, and this is not an easy process."
Role of Russia
The Azerbaijani side highly appreciates the role of Russia in the settlement of the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and is grateful for the efforts undertaken, which made it possible to stop the bloodshed, Bulbul oglu said.
“I personally appreciate the role of Russia as an ambassador who has been working here for many years, very highly. the world has thus allowed to stop this bloodshed in this way, "the diplomat said.
